Memorial Day is a time to reflect on our Military Men & Women who have served us so well, so I'm gonna list the Military people from my family, who I'm so proud of:
My dad, David Foster, Army
Father-In-Law, Daniel Rose, Army
Brother-In-Law, Daniel Rose, Army
Uncle Mike Larimer, Marines, Viet Nam
Uncle Larry Larimer, Air Force
Grandfather, John Larimer, Navy WWI
Uncle Harold Cowger, Marines Korean War (KIA)
Great Grandfather, John H. Larimer, Union Army Civil War (KIA)
Grt Grt Grandfather, James W. Kelly Union Army Civil War
Grt Grt Grandfather, Edward Macy Harvey, Union Army Civil War
Grt Grt Grt Grandfather, John M. Canada Union Army, Civil War
Grt Grt Grandfather, John W. Davenport, Confederate Army, Civil War
Grt Grt Grandfather, Milton Shivers Cowger, Union Army Civil War
Grt Grt Grt Grt Grandfather, Joseph Stebbins, Revolutionary War
There are more from the Rev. War, but I don't have the info at my fingertips. The (KIA) means that that soldier was killed in action.
Anyway, I'm proud of what my ancestors have done for their country, and proud of all of our military people.
Now having said that, I feel I must say that the current war seems to be a disaster, and I wish someone would fix it. I don't claim to be a military expert, so I can't say how that could be done, or even give an opinion on it, but I do absolutely support our troops.
Ok, we have had another good weekend. Although we really really need some rain. It's been like 3 or 4 weeks since it rained and that's a long time for Tennessee. I've never seen it so dry here.
On Friday we went to the drive in at Watertown to see Pirates of the Caribbean III! It was soooooo good!! I think it was the best of the 3! I can't wait until #4. The way it ended, it is obvious that there will be a #4, and it will probably be just as good! Now I'm just waiting for Harry Potter to come out!!! YAY!!
On Saturday, we went to Granville to the Heritage Festival. We took Brady's friend Justin and we all had a pretty good time. There was a car show, museums, antiques, yard sales, LOTS of good food, music, etc. It's not quite the covered bridge festival, but about as good as it gets right around here.
Didn't do a whole lot yesterday, babysat for the neighbor kids, but that's not like really working. They are Brady's friends so he went with me and we played outside with sidewalk chalk, then we played the longest game of UNO ever in the world (I won of course!) Then we played Monopoly. It was fun!
I don't yet know what's on the agenda for today. Probably work in the garden, do some housework, fix the leaky water heater. Sounds fun! You should come help!!HA!!
