Boy, what a week! I am so tired! Working everyday at the same school is like having a real job! I have been subbing for a teacher whose daughter was injured playing softball. He has been at the hospital with her all week. They tell me that she is doing better today, so that is good! All of the kids at our school made Get Well cards for her. I really love our school. If there is a need, everyone does their best to fulfill it. There are so many caring people in this community! I'm really gonna miss our 8th graders when they graduate.
Today after school we worked in the yard. We pruned trees, mowed the creek bank, dug out the garden some more. So far I've planted potatoes, peas, carrots, leaf lettuce, spinach and green beans. I still need to plant 2 more rows of green beans, corn, tomatoes, watermelon, pumpkins and gourds. Maybe this year I'll even weed it! I sure wish we had a tiller! Poor Jeff is digging the yard up with a shovel, scraping off the grass, etc. then he breaks it up with a pitch fork, then I go in with the hoe and make rows and do the planting. Hard work! Also, the neighbor kids came over. The boy played army with Brady, the girl helped me prune trees.
Tomorrow we have to take the dog and both cats to the vet in South Carthage. They are having a vaccination clinic, so for $7 each we can have them vaccinated. It should be interesting having all 3 animals in the car at once. The neighbors (parents of the kids who came over today) loaned us two cat carriers, so that will make it easier.
I leave you today with a picture of Brady and the Big Peach. This is located south of Vincennes, Indiana. There is a produce store there that also has lots of cute artsy craftsy junk for sale. This is a very well known landmark, as you can imagine.
